 Contact Lens Technician Responsibilities:

• Orders contact lens and supplies for clinic and patients.
• Checks in contact lens upon arrival for patients and stock.
• Returns contact lens that were ordered wrong, over-stock, damaged.
• Checks all invoices on all contact lens and forwards them to appropriate billing personnel.
• Counsels' patients on contact lens insertion(lessons)
• Makes appropriate appointments for lessons or contact lens follow up.
• Trouble shoots all contact lens issues.
• Triage all contact lens calls or problems pertaining to contact lens.
• Assist doctors with order forms so they are legible, correct in power, correct in company to order.
• Orders on-line or by telephone for most contact lens company.
• Attend meetings regarding contact lens rep and changes or information.
• Pass any information to supervisor or doctors that were mentioned at the meeting.
• Attend staff meetings for all Techs assigned to clinic.
• Request all charts for every contact order or message.
• Follows up by alling patients when their contact lens arrives.
• Package contact lens order; attach contact form with chart; and ready for patient to pick up.
• Helps cover clinic when staffing is short as a technician and assigned by supervisor.
• Helps cover visual field when coverage is short and assigned by supervisor.
• Assist clinical supervisor or site manager in any assignment that is needed and when called upon.

This position will sometimes work out of other clinics.

Requirements

Contact Lens Technician Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Must possess strong computer skills
• One-year related experience preferred
• COA or COT certification preferred but will consider otherwise qualified candidates with less experience
